Unsanctioned trail in Forest Park exposed
Monday, March 1st, 2010Check this report out on the illegal trail built in Forest Park.
Though I don’t condone building unsanctioned trails, it does bring the need for a new trail system in Portland to forefront of discussion. I think this report is a little bit dramatic in the way it describes the damage caused by a ribbon of dirt through a forest. In fact just down the road there are clear cut logging operations being carried out and there is no news coverage or cries of vandalism as the entire hillside is stripped bare of its trees. Mammals, fish, and amphibians are probably a little more stressed about the clear cuts than they are about a small trail through a large forest.

I want to introduce you all to the newest service shop open to take care of your ride. Riders and Sliders just opened and owner/chief mechanic Erik Nyberg is ready to help keep your bikes and snowsports gear performing at peak performance. Need parts? He can get them, and soon you will the option to have him put them on your bike or you can rent out his work bench by the hour. Either way you can get the job done professionally!
If you love to record your adventures and your friends crashes while riding, this is a camera you should definitely take a look at. I have been using the Hero Wide camera for about a year and it does an awesome job. The 170 degree camera angle gets all the action and it records to a SD card. Super easy to use, and it records video and stills with the option to take 5 Mb stills at intervals of 2/5/10/30/60 second intervals. Now with the HD capability it records 1080, 960 and 720p resolutions at 30 and 60 frames per second options. With a new rechargeable Lithium ion batter you can record 2.5 hrs on each charge.
