Blackrock Build Day – Saturday January 16th

Posted on January 13th, 2010

There is a Blackrock build day this coming Saturday, starting at 9AM. They could really use some help — last build day had 12 people!

Here is a note on the details from the BRMBA site:

If you come out to help and are just working please drive up to BT and someone will point you in the right direction or if we don’t have a lot of volunteers then there will be a table under the tent.  Please check in and then read the notice there on where to go to help. If you are working and then plan to ride you can drive up for working but you will need to drive back down before riding since the gate will be closed by 4PM (we don’t want to lock anyone in).

If you can make it down there to help out, please consider doing so. Those trails are super sick and new stuff is going in all the time.

GoPro HD Helmet Hero cam available now!

Posted on October 29th, 2009

683_large_CHDHH-001-01-683x426If you love to record your adventures and your friends crashes while riding, this is a camera you should definitely take a look at.  I have been using the Hero Wide camera for about a year and it does an awesome job.  The 170 degree camera angle gets all the action and it records to a SD card.  Super easy to use, and it records video and stills with the option to take 5 Mb stills at intervals of 2/5/10/30/60 second intervals.  Now with the HD capability it records 1080, 960 and 720p resolutions at 30 and 60 frames per second options.  With a new rechargeable Lithium ion batter you can record 2.5 hrs on each charge.

All these video capabilities are wrapped in a waterproof, bombproof, easy to mount case.

All these features for under $300!

Go Pro is accepting preorders now.  Check it out!

Biketobeerfest

Biketobeerfest

9/19/09 Portland, OR- The first annual BIKETOBEERFEST was held on Saturday at Hopworks Urban Brewery.  The combination of Bikes, Brews and Music was a hit.  Christian Ettinger, owner of HUB, did a great job hosting bike-centro festival and ofcourse his award winning beers were flowing and keeping the cycling crowd well lubricated!

Performances by Boy Eats Drum Machine and Chronicle rocked the back lot.  Hand built bikes were on show including the beautiful and fully functional “HUB Bike Bar” built by Winter Cycles.  A flat land BMX demonstration was on hand for all the fans of 80’s style cool!   For those that like to drink and break stuff…there was the Huffy Huck competition.

All in all it was a great time and HUB did nice job with the first Biketobeerfest!  Can’t wait for next year’s!

Camando Canadian Bike Thieves Strike

Bike thieves suck!

Bike thieves suck!

Surrey, B.C. – Bike thieves really know how to stick a knife into your heart.  Last week while visiting the beautiful land of the ‘Great White North’, fellow rider Erik Nyberg had his Iron Horse Sunday stolen.  Headed home after riding at Whistler, Erik stopped off in Surrey.  Thieves cut the lock, removed the front wheel and lifted the bike out of his bike rack on his truck.

“The F*#kers cut the cable and removed the front wheel! GONE! F*#K!” said Nyberg.

There is a special place in hell for bike thieves!
